Nobody is more excited for (meaningful) baseball than yours truly, but I have become sick of all the postponements in the beginning of the year.

I know I know, weather is never that predictable and April certainly brings with it, nice weather. But why take the chance? There are enough teams that play in warm weather locations or domes that would almost guarantee a full slate of games for the first couple of weeks and eliminate the constant threat of rain/snow outs.

Below are the teams that should start the season at home and away. As you can see, the math works...

AMERICAN LEAGUE HOME TEAMS:

Tampa Bay Rays (Dome)
Toronto Blue Jays (Retractable roof)
Minnesota Twins (Dome)
Texas Rangers
Oakland A's
Los Angeles Angels
Seattle Mariners (retractable roof)

AMERICAN LEAGUE AWAY TEAMS:

New York Yankees
Boston Red Sox
Baltimore Orioles
Chicago White Sox
Kansas City Royals
Cleveland Indians
Detroit Tigers

NATIONAL LEAGUE HOME TEAMS:

Atlanta Braves
Florida Marlins
Milwaukee Brewers (Retractable roof)
Houston Astros (Retractable roof)
Los Angeles Dodgers
San Diego Padres
San Fransisco Giants
Arizona Diamondbacks (Retractable roof)

NATIONAL LEAGUE AWAY TEAMS:
New York Mets
Philadelphia Phillies
Washington Nationals
Pittsburgh Pirates
St. Louis Cardinals
Chicago Cubs
Cincinnati Reds
Colorado Rockies

With just hours to go until the first official game of the 2009 regular season (thank goodness), Barry and I have teamed up with the guys at Snatchsports.com to try as hard as we can to predict how the season will play out over the next seven months. (Hopefully these predictions hold up better than our March Madness brackets, eh Barry?).

The link to view our predictions is below. In short, Barry likes the Yankees beating the Mets in another Subway Series, and I like the Yankees to also take home number 27, but against Sweet Lou and the Cubs.

2009 MLB Predictions

-Be sure to check out our show tomorrow night (Monday) from 5-7, as Barry and I go through opening day in the major leagues and break down the National Championship Game between Michigan St. and UNC.

Don't Forget, the number to reach us during the show is 845-624-1300 and we can always beach reached via AIM at speakingofsports.
