Nobody is more excited for (meaningful) baseball than yours truly, but I have become sick of all the postponements in the beginning of the year. Posted by Mike Ferrara
I know I know, weather is never that predictable and April certainly brings with it, nice weather. But why take the chance? There are enough teams that play in warm weather locations or domes that would almost guarantee a full slate of games for the first couple of weeks and eliminate the constant threat of rain/snow outs.
Below are the teams that should start the season at home and away. As you can see, the math works...
AMERICAN LEAGUE HOME TEAMS:
Tampa Bay Rays (Dome)
Toronto Blue Jays (Retractable roof)
Minnesota Twins (Dome)
Texas Rangers
Oakland A's
Los Angeles Angels
Seattle Mariners (retractable roof)
AMERICAN LEAGUE AWAY TEAMS:
New York Yankees
Boston Red Sox
Baltimore Orioles
Chicago White Sox
Kansas City Royals
Cleveland Indians
Detroit Tigers
NATIONAL LEAGUE HOME TEAMS:
Atlanta Braves
Florida Marlins
Milwaukee Brewers (Retractable roof)
Houston Astros (Retractable roof)
Los Angeles Dodgers
San Diego Padres
San Fransisco Giants
Arizona Diamondbacks (Retractable roof)
NATIONAL LEAGUE AWAY TEAMS:
New York Mets
