Retired Head Coach Tony Dungy and the now officially retired Rodney Harrison are expected to be announced as the newest additions to the NBC Football Night in America studio team.

Dungy, who is probably the most liked person in football today did a great job in contributing to the pre-game show for NBC's coverage of Super Bowl 43.

Harrison, known for being one of the dirtiest players in the game on the field, is also known for being charismatic and personable off the field.

With Jerome Bettis' departure, and Cris Collinsworth's move to the booth, there is room for both guys to join up.

John Sterling is Taking a Beating in the Media...I Don't Object...

Man, today was not John Sterling's day. Phil Mushnick started it out with his article in the NY Post and it has continued throughout the day on talk-radio as well as various blogs.

I even found a website devoted to all of his miscues...

johnsterling.blogspot.com

His mistakes this past weekend were unforgivable. From Calling home runs that weren't to losing track of the count atand not calling a strikeout, his whole shtick is officially old. The only thing keeping his job is his longevity with the team, which is a disgrace.

I have had enough of him AND Suzyn Waldman. It is impossible to listen to their radio broadcasts and feel confident that what you're hearing is what is actually happening on the field...

BREAKING NEWS: Jon Gruden Replaces Tony Kornheiser on MNF
Monday, May 18, 2009, 11:00 AM - NFL, Sports Media

Tony Kornheiser has stepped down as the third man in the Monday Night Football booth and will be replaced by former Raiders and Buccaneers Head Coach, Jon Gruden .

Although I am a fan of Tony's when it comes to ESPN's Pardon the Interruption, I've always felt that his role on Monday Night Football was forced. He was there for comic relief, and the last time I checked, football games were in no need of anything too funny.

Gruden should be a nice fit, not too over the top, but enough to where he will give a nice alternative to Ron Jaworski , who is ESPN's maven at X's and O's.

---This marks another change in the landscape of the outlets that cover the NFL. Already we have seen John Madden retire from NBC's Sunday Night Football ( Cris Collinsworth will take his place) as well as Jerome Bettis who will not be returning to NBC's Football Night in America show ( Tony Dungy & Rodney Harrison are rumored to be possible replacements).

Skip Bayless, Go Away.

Man, and I thought I was the only one (besides every professional athlete that ever lived) that hated Skip Bayless. There are certain people and shticks in the media that are so off, that they actually entice you to watch/listen to them more.

Bayless is so bad that I can't even do that. I do not watch ESPN First Take because of this guy for an assortment of reasons. Go to awfulannouncing.com (our linking is not working right now or I would do the work for you) and find the audio of him sounding even dumber than usual and eventually hanging up on ESPN 950's (Philadelphia) host Mike Missanelli.
